I woke up at one in the afternoon, came out and sat on my couch. Turned on my T.V. and it was already on GEO NEWS. The headlines were on and I was just listening to them and suddenly this news came ‘King of Pap intiqal kargaye.’ I was like whoa…I quickly snatched the remote from my cousin and tuned into CNN they had this running, tuned to BBC they had it running. Put MTV and they were playing Michael’s Heal the World. I was shocked.
I am sure that most of us felt the same way. Michael was the seventh child of Jackson family. He made a debut with the Jackson 5 and later persuaded a solo career in 1971. He was called the ‘King of Pop’ while he was still member of the group. In 1982 he released thriller the World’s best selling album of all time. His success can be seen from this that he was the first Black-American whose songs started to be featured on MTV.
On stage Michael was no different. He invented and popularized hundreds of different dance techniques, such as the robot and moonwalk. He was thought to be the King of Stage. He toured different countries of the world to perform live for his lovers. The stage performances used to be just fabulous. His distinctive music style influenced many hip hop, pop, trance and contemporary R&B artists around the World.
Jackson donated and raised millions of dollars for beneficial causes through his foundations, charity singles, and support of 39 charities. Other aspects of his personal life included his often changing appearances and eccentric behavior, generated significant controversy which damaged his public image. The singer had experienced health concerns since the early 1990s along with conflicting reports regarding the state of his finances since the late 1990s. Jackson married twice and brought up three children, actions which caused further controversy. Jackson was accused of child sexual abuse in 1993 but the investigation was closed due to lack of evidence and Jackson was not charged. In 2005, he was tried and acquitted of similar allegations.
His achievements include multiple Guinness World Records including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time" 13 Grammy Awards, thirteen number one singles in his solo career, and the sale of 750 million records worldwide.
In conclusion I say that Michael Jackson was a sound of change. He was there before Michael Jordan, before 50 cent, before the collapse of Soviet Union and even before Barrack Obama. He truly wanted change.
